Activation
How does activation work?
- Open Settings, then License, and copy your Request ID (ELW-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).
- Send it to us with the plan you want.
- You receive a code starting with EDC1 to paste in Settings, or it arrives automatically if you enable the ELWANI VENTRA connection.
FAQs
Common questions
Does it need the internet?
No. DermaOS runs entirely on your computer. The connection is optional, to receive activation and renewal codes automatically.
Is patient data sent anywhere?
No. Activation only sends the Request ID, clinic name, license state, and number of accounts, never any patient data.
Does the backup include photos?
Yes. A full backup contains the database and every patient photo, and can be encrypted with a passphrase.
What happens when a subscription ends?
DermaOS becomes read-only: you can still view, print, and back up, and no data is deleted.
Does it diagnose or recommend treatment?
No. Diagnoses, treatments, and treatment settings are decided and documented by the clinician; DermaOS never suggests treatment.
How many accounts are included?
Plans support 3, 5, or 10 accounts, including the owner.
